SPECIAL OLYMPICS VOLUNTEERS RECOGNISED IN MAYORS AWARDS

The annual Mayor’s awards in Gibraltar recognise those who have served the community and this year an award was presented specifically to the Special Olympics Volunteers for the services they provide. At an award ceremony on 10th April the award was presented by the Mayor, Carmen Gomez, and received by   Annie Risso, Marisa Henrich, James Danino and Andy Ramage representing Special Olympics Volunteers. Nominations for such awards have to be made by members of the public and endorsed by the Awards Board.

They are awarded to those who go above and beyond to serve others at a time of need, or just selflessly give of their time without asking for anything in return. The award is a tribute to the work put in by all coaches, administrators, supporters, helpers and volunteers for Special Olympics Gibraltar.
