It is with great sadness that we have to report the passing of Willie Page.
Willie Page gave Special Olympics Gibraltar many wonderful years until he retired through personal reasons. He was an Executive Committee Member who was always available to support in World Games either as athletics coach or in Dublin as Assistant Head of Delegation, a man of many talents. We sadly missed him when he was not able to continue with us, always waiting for the time when he could take up the gauntlet again, but it was not to be.
His shining light was as a team player. He would have the athletes and coaches in stitches wherever he went. He had many talents, too many to mention, but the one that served us well was his infectious friendliness which can be depicted with the below photos from the Winter Games in Nagano, Japan, 2005. It did not matter the language he got heard and friendships were quickly made.

The whole of Special Olympics Gibraltar family, athletes, President, Chairman and Committee members, coaches, volunteers, family members would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to Willie’s family especially his wife Antonia and son Dylan and daughter Vanessa.
He may have gone but he leaves a great legacy of shared memories.
Rest In Peace Willie.
